Dressing in style for Christmas

Ahead of the approaching Christmas weekend, it is easy to get lost in which garments feel right. On the one hand, you may see Christmas as a formal holiday, allowing the chance to dress formally. On the other hand, the weekend can be quiet, where time is prioritised towards spending time with loved ones, or where time is given to relaxing and recharging ones batteries. There are no direct guidelines required in how you should look when it comes to clothing. However, if you are invited, or are the host yourself, you can dress stylishly and elegantly. No matter how your Christmas holiday takes shape, it is always nice to put a little extra thought into the clothes you wear.

Camel, cinnamon & caramel

A colour scheme that can sometimes feel odd to wear during the dark winter months, but which most often turns out to be very stylish, is white in all its shades. Brands such as Purple Label from Ralph Lauren, Brunello Cucinelli and Boglioli are three brands to take inspiration from when it comes to integrating this colour scheme into your wardrobe. The bright colours, best combined with luxurious garments in wool or cashmere. Taupe, off-white and brown pair well together and are a colour scheme that blurs the lines of relaxation with formality. When Christmas Eve approaches, the thought may strike you: "Should you go for the red Christmas jumper with Rudolph's flashing nose or the classic blazer that reminds you of grandpa's?" The answer to the first question is no and to the second, definitely. There are usually many choices and we think that Christmas Eve is an excellent opportunity to reinvigorate a real staple from the wardrobe - the chequered blazer. A jacket that may not be used every day, but on well-chosen occasions delivers that little extra glamour. We recommend a brown coloured base, with faintly coloured squares. Either in brushed wool or tweed. A long-sleeved merino polo shirt underneath and a pair of straight, dark grey flannel trousers is a combination that defines Christmas.
